Brooke Watson works as the Marketing Manager for the Kentucky Community & Technical College System. She manages the marketing materials, advertisements and branding for 16 colleges serving over 120,000 students. Brooke holds an MBA in Marketing, and a BS in Communications. 

Brooke wrote her first short story in late 2007 as a stress coping mechanism. No surprise that it was a marriage satire. In 2008, she decided to share this story with others and to join an online writing group. The support for her work was overwhelming. Confidence boosted, Brooke continued writing and preparing her stories for publication.

Her first short, "The Contract"--cross your fingers--is currently circulating magazine editors. Brooke plans to release her second work, "Dust", in winter 2009.

Most of Brooke's stories are touched with humor and many of them are categorized as either general fiction or soft fantasy/science fiction. She is an avid reader of both categories. You can see her complete reading list on Goodreads.com, but Ray Bradbury, Ann Tyler, Neil Gaiman, John Burnham Schwartz, JK Rowling, and Herbie Brennan are a few recent favorites.

Brooke is a native of Topeka, Kansas, but now resides in the Lexington, Kentucky area. She likes bourbon quite a bit, but drinks it only in moderation. (While it does cure her of headaches, it does nothing to improve her writing.) Brooke lives with her husband, Joel, and daughter, Ashlyn.
